Fairey Industrial Ceramics Limited (FICL) is part of the Taylor Tunnicliff group of companies. Taylor Tunnicliff is a diverse ceramics group, manufacturing both industrial and consumer products.
FICL is headquartered in the “Potteries” region of the North of England, world famous for its ceramics industry. The company employs more than 80 people and exports to 140 countries around the world, winning the Queens Award to Industry and the Queens Award for Export Achievement.

FICL manufactures ceramic drinking water filters under the world renowned Doulton® and British Berkefeld® brand names. FICL also produces a wide range of industrial porous ceramic products including tubes, tiles and discs for applications such as filtration, crossflow microfiltration, fluidisation, aeration and diffusion, among others. All ceramic products are manufactured in-house at the FICL factory under International Standards Organisation (ISO) conditions. To ensure the highest product quality and consistency, FICL has its own inspection facilities and testing laboratory on site.

A recent addition to FICL is the wholly owned subsidiary Fairey Filtration Systems Limited (FFSL). This new venture means that the company is no longer simply a ceramic component supplier. It is able to offer industrial customers innovative integrated filtration systems. Central to these systems is the patented Star-Sep™ crossflow membrane.

This revolutionary new technology can be used for numerous filtration applications, but FFSL is concentrating its main marketing efforts on the treatment of Produced Water within the Oil and Gas industry. The Star-Sep™ membrane has proved extremely effective at the reduction of oil levels in Produced Water to well below Regulator targets.
