New Product: Rio 2000
At Aquatech this year, FICL will launch a brand new high flow filter module to replace NP5, which has now been discontinued. Rio 2000 is a true whole house filter, processing up to 2000 litres of water per hour through a proprietary assembly of 6 mini Sterasyl™ ceramic filter candles. The Rio 2000 filter module has been designed to fit industry standard 10 inch housings of the “Big Blue” type.

Housings will be available from FICL, but filter modules will also be available separately to distributors who already stock “Big Blue” type housings or to customers who want to upgrade their existing housing by retro-fitting a Rio 2000 module.

An additional benefit of the large filtration surface area is that Rio 2000 offers good flow even to customers with low water pressure.

The module itself is a one-off purchase. Candles can then be cleaned and replaced in the normal way. Replacement candles will be available in packs of 6.

Rio 2000 will be available for purchase in quarter 4 of 2006. Demand is already high, so the FICL sales department is taking advanced orders for this product for delivery in quarter 4. For more information, please get in touch with your usual FICL contact or e-mail filtersales@faireyceramics.com

New Product: ATC Super Sterasyl
FICL is pleased to announce a new filter candle product for general release. ATC Super Sterasyl is ideal for use in gravity filters. It can also be used in pressure filters in areas where there is very low water pressure and Ultracarb™ cannot be used as a result.

The silver impregnated Sterasyl™ ceramic shell is filled with a special mix of granular activated carbon and heavy metal removal media which has a preference for lead. Therefore, ATC Super Sterasyl has the chlorine removal and taste and odour improvement capability you would expect from Super Sterasyl™, with additional lead removal.

This product is available now. For more information please get in touch with your usual FICL contact or e-mail filtersales@faireyceramics.com

Product Development Director
FICL is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Clark to the new post of Product Development Director. Andrew has been with the company for more than 10 years, most recently in the role of Technical Manager. During that time he has developed expertise both on the Industrial and Drinking Water Filter sides of the business.

FICL has worked hard over the last 18 months to improve the current product range and improve service to customers by increasing the efficiency of our manufacturing operation.

Having achieved these goals, the company is now able to look to the future and devote its energy to growing the business in a sustainable and strategic way.

“Developing the right new products for an ever changing and more demanding consumer market is an essential part of our growth strategy. We already have a talented Technical team in place which has a huge amount of expertise in ceramics and water treatment in general. Having a Director directly accountable for Product Development to lead that team in the right direction is the next step in ensuring that we develop the right products, targeted at specific vertical markets, in commercial timescales,” says Paul Hipkiss, Sales and Marketing Director. ”We wish Andrew the very best of luck in his new role.”
