Season's Greetings

All at Fairey Industrial Ceramics Limited would like to take this opportunity to wish our customers, distributors, agents, and friends around the world all the very best for 2006!

In previous years, we have sent cards to communicate our best wishes. This year we decided to send our greetings to you electronically in this newsletter and to donate the money that we would have spent on cards and postage to a worthwhile local charity. This does not mean that we think any less of you! We are sure you will agree that the money will have a more positive impact on a larger number of people being spent in this way.

This year, we have decided to donate the money to the County Air Ambulance. Launched in 1991 as a pilot project, the Air Ambulance service now runs 3 helicopters giving emergency medical support to the entire West Midlands region of England (around 6 million people). Each helicopter carries 2 paramedics and enables 2 patients to be transported to the most appropriate local specialist medical centre with all possible speed. It has already saved hundreds of lives. The Air Ambulance relies entirely on charitable donations and fundraising to keep the service running. More information on the service can be found at www.countyairambulance.org

Aid & Trade
On January 25th and 26th 2006, FICL will be exhibiting at the International Aid and Trade Event in Geneva . We have also been asked to take an active role in the discussion forums on water and sanitation. "This is a great opportunity for us to meet most of the major players in the humanitarian sector under one roof", said Simeon Gabriel, FICL's Sales and Marketing Manager. "We have a lot of new product ideas aimed at the emergency relief sector, which we are keen to present. It will also be great to hear directly what the guys on the ground are really looking for in terms of simple drinking water solutions."

FICL has done a lot of work with many of the major humanitarian organisations around the world for many years. The simplicity and proven effectiveness of our products have been consistently popular in the aid sector. Now FICL has used its experience to take a fresh look at its product offering and tailor it more towards the needs of the aid agencies. This has already enabled NGOs to use our filters on a wider scale to provide clean drinking water to the people who really need it.
New Products - HIP and HCP Double

FICL is delighted to announce the addition of a further two products to the drinking water filter range. The HIP Double (under sink filter) and the HCP Double (counter top filter) are now available.

The additional pod in each filter enables the use of a prefilter in conjunction with the ceramic filter. This increases the life of the ceramic filter in areas of high turbidity and also reduces the frequency of candle cleaning.

Please contact the FICL sales department for more details.

South Africa Trade Mission

FICL's Territory Manager for Africa, John Ayre, recently went on a British Government Trade Mission to South Africa. During the week that he was there, John had a packed schedule of meetings in both Johannesburg and Cape Town.

The trip was a great success, enabling John to cement relations with old friends of FICL as well as generating new business from new contacts.

John will be returning to the region early in the New Year to continue the more focussed sales and marketing approach FICL is taking in Africa as a whole and South Africa in particular. FICL is hopeful of seeing significant growth in sales to the region in 2006.

ITF

Fairey Filtration Systems Limited has been working with ITF (Industry Technology Facilitator) on an initiative for the use of Star-SepT ceramic based 'Produced Water' filtration systems. ITF is a not-for-profit organisation owned and supported by 17 of the major oil operating and service companies. It is the vehicle through which these companies fund projects which meet the technology needs of the oil and gas industry. ITF facilitates the development of new, high-impact technologies to improve the efficiency and safety of oil and gas production. It was in this capacity that Fairey Filtration Systems Limited was asked to present the unique aspects of the Star-SepT system.

As a result of the significant interest shown by oil and gas companies in the UK , Europe, India , and the Middle East, Fairey Filtration Systems Limited is in the process of manufacturing fully specified 2 cubic meters per hour pilot plants to satisfy the demand for pilot plant trials.

Ian Elliott, Business Development Manager for Fairey Filtration Systems Limited, has recently visited India and the Middle East , where he had been invited to give various high level presentations. On his return, Ian said "The technology is creating great interest. We are confident of securing not only pilot plant testing venues, but have been given the opportunity to bid for major 'Produced Water' treatment plants as well".
